The purpose of PROJECT ONE: FIVE is to shine a light on the darkness that hides child sexual abuse.
The focus is on PREVENTION.
Stranger Danger is no longer adequate training.
In most cases children are abused by someone they know and trust or
by someone adults know and trust and have allowed into their child's world.
Children do not have the power to say "No" to someone in authority.
The utlimate goal of PROJECT ONE: FIVE is to help adults in their responsibility to provide safe environments.
Darkness to Light's Stewards of Children® training is used to present statistics and the importance of action plans.
These actions plans should be placed in all areas of a child's world: home, school and play.
Adults must become informed about child sexual abuse and know what action to take for prevention .
Protecting children is the responsibility of adults...all adults in a child's life.
